Bang Bao is well-known as a fishing village and a springboard to other islands, it is a sheltered bay where locals still live in houses built on stilts above seawater. Seafood restaurants, souvenir shops, boat rentals. Dive shops and tour operators all merge at the long wooden bridge that leads to the pier. It is an ideal place for fresh seafood and shopping for some local stuff. Few bungalows have sprouted amongst coconut groves. Bang Bao Beach is relatively small and quiet.
